Samburu Governor Lati Lelelit launches construction of 10 roads

Samburu Governor Lati Lelelit inaugurated 10 roads today, marking a significant step in improving security operations within the county. The Governor also launched the refurbishment of the Leparasho security camp in Logurate, emphasising the positive impact these projects will have on the security landscape in troubled areas, particularly Samburu West Constituency. Governor Lelelit assured locals that security officers would promptly address cases of cattle rustling and banditry, which continue to pose threats to peace and stability.

During the inauguration, Governor Lelelit was accompanied by Samburu Senator Hon Lelegwe Ltumbesi, Samburu Women Representative Hon Pauline Lenguris, and Samburu West MP Hon Naisula Lesuuda. MP Lesuuda pledged collaboration with the county government through NGCDF to ensure the rehabilitation of the Leparasho security camp provides a hospitable environment for deployed security officers, facilitating the restoration of peace and order in the region.

MP Lesuuda expressed hope for lasting peace and meaningful development along the troubled belt bordering Tiaty Constituency in Baringo County, stating, "I wish for a time that the people of Samburu West will live in peace and engage in meaningful development as they so much desire" on her Facebook platform.

The inauguration of these security projects coincides with the two-day visit of the national parliamentary committee on administration and internal security in Samburu County. The committee engaged with political leaders and the county security committee, with plans to gather public views tomorrow in security-prone areas of Longewan, Losuk, and Pura in Samburu West.
